Absolute bargain. Extremely easy to use, just plugged it into my MacBook and it picked the drive up right away and burned my CDs into my Apple Music account with ease. Haven’t used it for anything else yet, but am very pleased with it. I also got a scratch card in it that says I’ve won another one free (but not sure how legit that is as no one else has mentioned it in their review).

For the price I didn’t expect much, and hoped it would work so I could rip a few home movie dvd’s I found in my parents attack after they died a few years ago. Glad to report the drive worked perfectly with no additional software, other than the freeware for my Mac.Additionally, it’s nice to go a bit old school and listen to the hundreds of CD’s I bought back in the day. Despite music streaming services having in some cases over 100million songs. It appears most of my collection is so obscure that a good 80% of it has never found a new home on-line (1980’s Boystown/Hi-NRG before it crossed over to major labels I guess, plus maybe 150 bootlegs concerts).Being old school has its advantages and this ‘cheap as chips’ DVD/CD reader/writer does the job perfectly. I have no hestitation in recommending it.

Needed an inexpensive DVD drive to replace 20+ year-old (and now deceased) unit, so as to have access to archived docs, etc., on occasion. The Pros:- Low cost. At under £15, not a lot to wring hands over if it goes pfft after 6 months.- Does exactly what it says on the box: plug & play (Win 10 + Winn 11), reads / writes DVDs (and CDs).- No external power supply, draws directly from USB, so no need to lug additional power cords / transformers around if using it on the go.- Perfect for occasional use (who needs to used DVD drives on a daily basis nowadays?).The Cons:- The build is a little flimsy; had to glue the draw facia on to stop it falling off each time the draw opened.- USB cable might be a tad short for some desktop users (use a top USB socket if you have them available).

DVD/CD player/writerComes preset to region 1, with ability to change the region 4 more times if you intend to take this travelling.Compatible with MacOS (and Windows too) via the included built in USB-Type C (USB 3 also built in). No need to install or download anything. Simple plug and play as you would with any external car reader or USB/HDMI hub.Reading is stable enough not to skip or freeze even when not using on a flat surface. Not noisy, does not over heat too much. As with all external drives it will heat up with use, but as long as it’s not covered with a blanket or anything then it doesn’t get too hot.Does what you need it to, does it well. Does it at a fair price.Tested with data discs, games, audio and movies – works just fine with all of them.

Masterizzatore CD/DVD dall’ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo, praticamente plug’n’play

Works well straight out of the box
The internal optical drive in my 2007 iMac refused to play DVDs any more, and I’m pleased to report this item worked right out of the box as an instant external replacement. I’m currently running a very old Mac OS, 10.6.8, and all I did was plug it into a free USB port, stick a DVD in the unit, and it showed on the desktop without me doing a thing. Then it started the movie all by itself. Nice! It was completely plug and play for me. It also easily played some of the DVD movies that had given me trouble before. 6 Gold stars for ease of use! However, there is also the fact that I’d give this a score of 4 stars for the construction if I could, simply because the unit seems to be… not “flimsy,” or “fragile”… but VERY lightweight in materials. There is a fair amount of play in the DVD tray when extended, and the plastic structure seems on the thinner side. It’s wonderful for weight savings, but I urge caution when handling. I was careful, watched what I was doing, and had NO problems. Don’t force things and you should be fine. Be aware the USB connection cable is on the short side, but not a problem in my case. For the low price I paid, I’m very happy with what I received. I will update my review if anything unexpected comes up, but at this point, I recommend it 100%.
