Great product, well built and works a treat. It sounds very simple, just plug it in as required and off you go but many complain that only one output works as did mine. However a bit of research showed that optical/spdif input to some devices can be tricky and is dependant on the initial sourse. In my case the sourse was a new Samsung tv, 2024 model. They have put only one sound output on this (and other!) sets, a digital optical only. There is no headphone output on the tv at all and none on their very expensive soundbar either. If sound volume was rated 0-100 my better half would need about 30, me around 90 so I needed headphones and I needed them to work at the same time as the soundbar. The soundbar worked fine on a single optical cable direct from the tv. When I fitted this splitter and a new cable ther was no change, worked fine. My Sennheiser wireless headphones had no digital input so I had to fit a digital to analogue converter to the second splitter outlet first. Didn’t work, at all. To rule out the splitter I plugged the soundbar into the second splitter outlet and again it worked fine in both. In the end it was the tv. Some devices, like my headphones, will only work with a standard stereo (PCM) input. Modern TV’s default though is a Dolby stereo which just does not work with some devices but some soundbars work with both. In tv (or device) settings, sound mode, change this from Dolby to PCM and job is done. Headphones now work fine. Hope this helps.

I purchased a passive splitter prior to getting this from a different manufacturer, but I experienced lots of drop outs in the audio. Bought the active version of this model and it has solved the issue. One star removed because it doesn’t have an off switch.

I had an optical feed coming from my music centre and needed to split it – one feed to my studio speakers, one to my surround system and one to a bluetooth splitter. This did the job perfectly. There is no loss of volume, the digital signal didn’t degrade and no noise was introduced. It is as easy to use as you could hope – plug the input (ToSLink fibre optic) cable into one socket, and the output cables into the others. It needs a power socket to be available as the digital stream needs enhancing. There is a red LED to indicate power is on, but it is not too bright.Other than that, it does what it says on the tin – turns one optical stream into three. The manufacturing quality is excellent, the price is well worth it. The power cable has a decent length.Mine has been running for nine months without a single hiccup. Highly recommended.

I wanted to share a 5.1 Logitech surround audio system with three Mac computers over fibre optic connections, something my KVM would not do, this works flawlessly, very pleased with it, no issues whatsoever. The unit has a metal enclosure, no flimsy plastic, which gives it enough weight to sit firmly on a flat surface, it’s worth mentioning there is no power brick with this device, it draws power from an included USB type A cable so you will need a spare USB type A port to run it

Much needed!
Great for those with multiple devices and only one audio unit with optical connectivity. Has been steady and no drops in quality in the sounds between the devices. Easy setup and remote is straight forward. Great Buy.

Bought this to have a split/dual optical output from a HDMI switcher/audio extractor I use with my Xbox and PS5 and have the ability to send the audio to 2 different sources/DACs (reasons). Avoiding some of the cheaper options, I was pleased with the build quality of this splitter and the solid connection fit, to the extent that it’s actually hard to detach any cable you plug in given how well they clip/slot in.

Worked straight out of the box. Just plug and play

very disappointing , The splitter works ok but the package has only the unit and a usb power lead in. It does not connect to the output source directly, like some others, and NO included optical cables. So now I have to buy 4 optical cables to make the system complete. This is now not good value for money!

Works great!
Splits a single audio optical output into two optical outputs. Simple to install and works flawlessly.
