My first reaction to this back support belt was alarm – it looked complicated and heavy – but neither was true.The belt is not heavy – it was easy to fit – and is such a comfort.I wore it around the house to start with and it felt quite good, almost relaxing, so then I did a bit of gardening and my back felt warm and well-supported.I sat and lingered over a coffee and felt warm and relaxed – no backache and not so tired – what a welcome feeling.It then dawned on me that I had to take it off, muscles have to be used on their own or they can get lazy and atrophy.That is when my husband borrowed it and felt the same comfort and freedom from that dull ache in his back that so many of us know all about.As a result, I am now ordering one for him – and while we are waiting for its arrival, we are glaring at each other as to whose turn it is next.Sizing is important, I am a 38 waist and I ordered the 39-45 size which is just right, I would not have wanted it any smaller.It is also important to realize that it should not be completely relied on to do the job on its own, it does not take the place of gentle exercise, if you can do it, your muscles will thank you for it.A day later and peace reigns supreme – – – we now have one each – – – – and are both enjoying the benefits.

This brace is quite supportive of the lumbar spine but I found the very lower part if my back still felt unsupported and unstable. My pain has been reduced by wearing this but it rubs against you, meaning it’s a little uncomfortable – a worthy trade off if you’re experiencing severe back pain. Just be sure not to wear this too often and to have direction from a medical professional because becoming reliant on a brace can cause more harm and pain than you had to begin with.

I bought this so I could have a spare to leave in my car after twisting my back at work. I had been in agony all night and standing up & moving around was so painful. Tried it on for size & kept it on for a few hours. The support from this belt is far superior to another style I already own & is more comfortable. I have been able to complete some DIY in the kitchen thanks to this and after removing it so I could go to the loo (I had wrapped it over my jeans) was amazed to feel no pain at all. I have had back problems for nearly 40 years on & off & this is the best belt I have tried. I thought it was a little pricey before I ordered it but it is definitely worth it. This is a great device for providing support to your lower back. I bought it to replace the one I had for about 5 years and was worn out.
