When I first ordered this it appeared as a antique gold wall light in the picture but I actually received a brushed chrome one which was a little disappointing. Nonetheless it does look quite attractive with a fairly heavy glass ornate shade. Overall it extends just under 30 cm from the wall although in fact it can be angled the thumb screw just above the lamp holder. It hangs down about 25 cm once the shade is attached. Supplied with the light fitting are wall plugs, screws, and screw type wire connectors, plus an instruction sheet showing diagrammatically how it should be installed.Having isolated the mains supply to the relevant lighting circuit, the first job is to tightly screw the two bolts onto the back plate so that the threaded ends protrude outwards. This can then be mounted onto the wall ensuring that the bolts are perfectly horizontal and that it is centred such that incoming mains wires come through the large hole. The next step is to connect the brushed chrome cover plate to the main light fixture using the two washers and nut.The wires can then be connected to the incoming mains wires with the black going to negative (usually black), the white to positive (usually red), and the earth to earth wire using the screw type connectors. This should be reasonably easy to do since without the shade the unit is fairly lightweight but a second pair of hands wouldn’t go amiss. Once connected the cover plate can be connected to the back plate using the two thumb type screws. The glass shade can now be connected by first inserting the larger chrome collar and then using the main threaded collar to secure the shade.Unfortunately no bulb is supplied with the unit so it will be necessary to obtain an ES E27 LED or incandescent screw-in bulb with maximum of 40 watts. Given the vintage look of the wall light I would recommend getting a vintage style (one which shows the filament) 4 watt warm or cool white LED bulb which is equivalent to a 40 watt incandescent bulb.Overall this should be easy to install providing mains wires are already there, and it looks quite attractive with that vintage look although I would have preferred the antique gold fitting out of choice. It is perhaps on the top end of the price range for such a light but does have a nice looking glass shade which really sets it off.

This wall light is lovely looking and has a vintage style to it. It is mains wired so will need an electrician to fit (or if you are handy with electrics yourself). It is a nice size and looks good on the wall. It gives off just the right amount of light for a side light.
