These seem to be well made. When applied properly they do have a good grip and provide a confident support for balance and movement. The suction lever is very hard to fully engage but the resulting grip is reassuring. If you already have arthritic joints you may wish to get someone with a stronger grip to ensure that the grab rail is properly fixed. We have one in the shower and one beside the WC.When we get to the stage of relying on the grab rails to take more of our weight I will be fixing grab rails with proper screws and fixings. Only then would I be confident of a stronger degree of support. In the meantime the suction grab rails are fine. They can be moved if required without leaving holes in the wall. I would not put any faith in the indicator. This is a purely mechanical device in my view to suggest that the lever is in the correct position. I don’t think that it provides any evidence of performance. Get someone to exert a degree of pressure to satisfy yourself that the grip is secure.

These seemed like a great idea. One of my parents is suffering with mobility issues in the shower and I have been meaning to install some grab handles for some time but the worry of drilling holes and potentially damaging tiles has kept me putting the job off. These seem very well made and once installed sturdy and solid. Its clever they have the colour system on them so you can see when it changed colour that their grip has been lost. It will depend on your shower and the size of your tiles as to whether you can fit these as they cannot stick to grout lines. The listing stats your tiles need to be over 4.5 inches for these to work but ours are 6 inch tiles and these seemed to be at the limit for these to fit. After installation all seemed well until two hours later a massive clunk from the bathroom. One had fell off. I put them both back up again, cleaning the tiles, letting them dry before applying them. Again, overnight, one fell off. I tried several times with different methods of cleaning the tiles and fitting but they would either fall off some time later or else partially come off, still be attached to the wall but come off when you put pressure on them.It occurred to me could I really expect everyone to check all four indicators before using these every time they step in and out of the shower. And did I want to rely on that for safety?I’ve ended up drilling some holes and installing sold, permanent handles instead which worked fine and don’t fall off in the night – I will say these were useful in working out the best place for us to place those but that was their only value to us.I suppose it may depending on your tiles but for us these would not stay up.

I recently purchased the Newthinking Suction Grab Rails for my bathroom and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. These grab rails are simply fantastic.First and foremost, security is paramount when it comes to bathroom grab rails, and these definitely deliver. The suction cups are incredibly strong and provide a reliable grip, giving me peace of mind every time I use them. What impressed me the most was how easy they were to fit. No drilling or complicated installation processes needed; you simply attach them to any smooth, non-porous surface with the suction cups. It took me just minutes to set them up, and they have held up perfectly ever since. Not only are these grab rails functional and secure, but they also have a pleasant design that blends seamlessly with my bathroom decor. The white color and sleek finish add a touch of elegance to the space.Overall, the Newthinking Suction Grab Rails are a top-notch product that I highly recommend to anyone in need of extra support in the bathroom. They tick all the boxes – secure, easy to fit, and aesthetically pleasing. Five stars from me!

  5. Branflakes

Good suction so helps stability getting in and out of bath. Easily removed. Very sturdy once installed correctly. Very functional and good value for money. Installed on tile and side of plastic bath. The one on the tile did slip once but ai think that was an installation issue. Has been fine since.

In July 2025, I was put into an induced coma and placed on a ventilator. Upon my return home, the NHS support suggested that hand rails be installed in my shower. Not wanting to have holes drilled into the tiles, I found these suction grab rails on Amazon. I must say they are perfectly designed, strong, and come highly recommended.
