An easy way to stay cool this summer.
It’s August, it’s hot, and this is just what we needed. For a while, I’ve steered clear of getting more food gadgets but this is one I wish I would have gotten sooner. As shown in the video, it is super easy to use and makes shaved ice super quickly. We have used this about a dozen times and have not had to recharge it. Seems like the battery lasts a long while.My favorite features:- Silicon molds to make perfectly sized ice cubes out of whatever we want (smoothie, juice, etc). Being able to make treats from juice is much cheaper than buying popsicles from the frozen food aisle.- Auto shut off. The machine automatically shuts off once it has gotten to the end of the ice cube. It even prevents you from starting it back up until you’ve added a new ice cube.- Portable. It is great that this machine has a rechargeable battery. That means we can take it outside to use without having to drag around an extension cord.- Easy to clean. The parts rinse off really easily in water. So far, we have not noticed any issues with reside or food getting stuck.

Kit comes with everything to get started except the flavoring, milk, etc.CONS1. Without mixing milk in my ice, I haven’t been able to get think shavings like those found at “Taiwanese Ice Stores” it’s more like a finger shave ice texture.2. Containers to hold is ONLY 1 small dish. This has to be turned manually distribute ice.3. Pricey for mainly plastic parts , springs, and screws that don’t seem like stainless steel.4. Not sure how to get replacement blades or batteries when they stop working for this price.

Okay, so this is called a “shaved ice maker.” They do give you nice ideas for making ‘whatever’ and freezing it in the little cups provided, then putting the contents of that cup through this machine. Oh, okay, I say. Well, I just wanted shaved ice for right now, some lemon juice on it and let’s see how it works first. You can see in my first photo, maybe 10 ice ‘cubes’ fit in there. In my second photo, that’s the shave I got. In the 3rd photo, those are the cubes that were left in the machine. It can’t feed all the way, as it’s recessed. So, having said that, if you used their cups and made your frozen fruit or whatever, you would lose quite close to half, because the cups they give you are 1-3/4 inches deep, and the area that gets trapped is 3/4 inch deep. So you’d get 1 inch. There is no way that is cool, not sufficient. If you have even one child, he will be sad, and forget it if you have more than one, or a friend comes over. It’s a spoonful basically. You might as well just eat it out of the freezer. Alcohol drinks, you’ll never “get there,” if that’s your point.

Which is a good thing.This Shaved Ice Maker Snow Cone Rechargeable Slushie Machine is battery-powered and portable. When packed away, it can be pretty unobtrusive so it won’t take up a lot of room in your pantry. It’s easy to use and it’s great to make some shaved ice for the kids to enjoy.In terms of design, this machine rethinks the traditional shaved ice machine and turns it 90 degrees. Ice is fed horizontally inside the plastic tube that contains the spring-loaded pusher and blade and the ice falls down through a hole in that tube. The ice must be made in the custom ice trays which is made of flexible silicone so that removing the ice is not a big problem. Once the ice is placed in the tube and secured to the motor, pressing the power button once starts the shave. There is an automatic stop mechanism and about a 1/8″ slice of ice is left behind.I like this machine for making shaved ice easily and quickly and being battery powered, you can take it with you on picnics.My gripe is that it is small. Each piece of ice will make a small plate of shaved ice, which isn’t a lot for even one person. With only 4 pieces of ice, not much shaved ice is made at all. I suppose I would have to plan ahead of time. I’d need to make the ice ahead, take them out and put them in a box, then make more. Even then, the tube is not very high above the plate so you can make only a plate of ice that’s about 3 inches high.

Fun and refreshing for summer treats
When I first opened this it was much more compact than I expected. I also didn’t realize that it was battery powered. Those are both things that I appreciate and find very convenient.It’s super easy to assemble and disassemble. You simply freeze whatever liquid you want in the included moulds and slip it into the cylinder. Once inserted, you simply push the power button and it starts spinning and outputs a snow-like texture ice shavings. It makes for excellent snow cones and ice treats.The longest part of the whole process is freezing your liquid.
