   Flicked the switch to PAL (for the UK), plugged it in and it immediately worked. No setup required. Plugged in my Chromecast (hdmi)(in) and my old tv (scart)(out) and everything worked straightaway. Very happy :)I’ve not found any HDCP copyright issues but I only use it with Chromecast. It has HDCP version 1.4 so it should work fine with most feed devices.In use it stays pretty cool (no overheating issues like with some adapters).It comes with a wall brick (5V-1A). It runs off 5V so I bought a usb-to-power pin (5.5 x 2.1 mm) cable (to power it from my usb hub), on which it runs just fine.If I have any criticism it’s that the red “on” led is VERY bright – I ended up putting a piece of tape over it to hide it as it was too distracting.Be wary of other similar looking boxes which may be old spec and not work with HDCP 1.4. This one from Neoteck is the one to get.A brilliant piece of kit. Perfect as an adpter to use Chromecast (e.g. catch-up tv) with an older tv.

   I was worried this might not work properly or mess up the AV input on my DVD recorder due to a previous review, but I’m pleased to say this device works a treat. Having done away with Virgin Media and now just having Freeview and the apps on my Smart TV, I couldn’t record anything to DVD from any of the apps. My DVD recorder can only record live from its inbuilt Freeview or via a SCART input. So I couldn’t record anything from catch up to DVD anymore. Connected my Mac via HDMI to this unit and the unit to the DVD recorder via SCART and was able to record from iPlayer. YES! I agree with previous reviews, the sound is noticeably quieter but nothing you can’t turn up on your TV. Pic quality was generally good, perhaps very minorly jerky, but I was recording an old TOTP broadcast, so original source material wasn’t HD to begin with. Only thing I would say is if I touched the box during viewing, even just the slightest touch, it would break the connection and return the screen to vertical strips of colour for a few seconds. So don’t touch the box when recording! Having the device on for 150minutes didn’t make it feel that hot to me as some other reviewers have mentioned. If you want to record encrypted catch up TV to DVD then this device does the job perfectly.

   This rugged device works well with my Discount Delights Firestick, converting its HDMI output to the PAL format which is needed as input to one of the SCART sockets on the back of my old (2004?) 36″ Toshiba colour television (Model 36ZP18P). Note that another converter did not work with the Firestick because it used a different version of HDMI! The picture and sound quality I get is as good as that from the BBC and I now get live tennis for £9.99 per month from tennistv, which is well worth while. Even with my slow Broadband of only 2mbs I get enjoyable tennis, though the picture did freeze for a few seconds on one rare occasion – I intend to upgrade to a faster broadband shortly.UPDATE: The picture has been fine for several weeks now, even with my slow (2mbs) broadband, with no freezing. And an upgrade to faster broadband (17mbs} has made no noticeable difference to the quality of the picture, though it should reduce any tendency to freeze.

   I bought this to hook up an Discount Delights Fire Stick (new version, with Alexa voice control) to an old CRT colour portable TV, with no HDMI slots, just a Scart socket. Works like a charm. It was a cinch to set up: plug one end of the Scart lead into the output, the other end into the TV. Then plug the Fire Stick into the Neoteck’s input and hook up both to the mains. Follow the onscreen instructions and you’re there. (Opening the Fire Stick remote to put the batteries in was a pain in the backside, but that’s nothing to do with this product!). The TV is in our master bedroom, and the wi-fi router is downstairs, but it all connected to my network without a hitch. Just the ticket if you have an old TV and don’t want to go to the expense of buying a new one. The picture is reasonable, considering the age of the telly, and in any case is probably nothing to do with the Neoteck.

   This product is an impressive design, hence it’s aluminium casing. However picture and sound quality is relatively poor in comparison to the Navolta one i previously purchased from Discount Delights which was much cheaper. Picture images are distorted/loosing some text at the bottom of the screen, guess i will have to live with it till i purchase a new Tv.

   I have a fab plasma TV which was very (VERY) expensive, but does not have any HDMI ports as it’s a good 10+years old now. I’ve been watching Netflix on my laptop, which is ok, but really wanted to watch it on my big screen.There’s no way I’m going to buy a new TV while my lovely plasma is still working well, so this little converter box has solved my problem.I had imagined spending the whole evening tinkering with this to get it to work, but it took just minutes.Connected this box to one of the scart sockets on my tv and power socket, plugged new Discount Delights Fire Stick in the other end and voila!I now am watching Netflix, Prime etc on the big screen :)There seems to be a very slight deterioration in picture quality than normal, but I really mean slight.Really pleased with this product. Just wish I’d bought one sooner.EDIT: Well, 6 months have gone by and the unit has broken. It was great while it worked, as reflected in my review, but I expected it to last longer than it did. Quite angry, as I now feel I ‘have’ to buy the same again, or else I can’t watch any Firestick/Now programs.I’m a bit miffed!Edit 2: 5 stars renewed! Contacted the customer services at Neoteck, who, with no quibble at all, sent out a new unit on the same day. Excellent!

   Für LCD TV mit mit nur DVI Eingang und Scart-Anschluss
   Für LCD TV mit mit nur DVI und kein HDM IAnschluss. MagentaTV wird bei einem HDMI auf DVI-Kabel das TV Bild Magenta Rot !! HDCP??Bei Einstellung Pal Ruckelt etwas das Bild bei schnellen Bewegungen.Bei NTSC etwas besser aber so OK!

   Non si stabilizza nella risoluzione HDMI.
   Premesso che l’oggetto è arrivato puntualmente, riporto l’esito del collegamento al TV.Ho un Philips tradizionale (tubo a raggi catodici, cilindrico a 29 pollici). Avendo un decoder TIM Vision collegato alla WiFi, che ha come unica uscita A/V quella di tipo HDMI, sono stato costretto ad acquistare un adattatore che trasformasse il segnale HDMI in uno di tipo SCART. In rete avevo letto che gli adattatori Neoteck erano tra i migliori, e mi sono deciso di acquistare questo. Appena collegato, ho avuto però l’amara sorpresa consistente nel fatto che l’adattatore produce una instabilità dell’immagine, in quanto la stessa “sfarfalla” passando continuamente e nell’arco di un paio di secondi, dalla risoluzione 4 K × 2 K @ 30 Hz a quella di 4 K × 2 K @ 25 Hz. Il risultato è quello di rendere molto fastidiosa la visione del programma. Può darsi che sia un difetto limitato all’esemplare in mio possesso, comunque, come altro appunto, va detto che l’adattatore ha una presa inglese, che necessita di un altro adattatore alle nostre prese elettriche.

    Nicht für deutsches Stromnetz tauglich
    Der Konverter macht seine Arbeit echt spitzenmäßig. Auf meinem alten Fernseher hab ich im Gegensatz zum LIGAWO HDMI zu Scart Konverter ein echt schönes Bild. Was jedoch stört, ist dass das Steckernetzteil keine auswechselbaren Kontakte hat und somit am deutschen Stromnetz nicht nutzbar ist. Hier kann man sich nur mit einem Netzteil aus dem Zubehör behelfen. Schade

    Das Bild am Scart-Ausgang ist noch ok, aber der Ton ist viel zu leise. Ich muß den TV fast auf max stellen. Am Scart/Cinch-Adapter und den HDMI-Kabeln liegt es nicht. Ob es am Konverter selbst liegt? Ohne dieses Ärgernis vergäbe ich 5 Sterne.
