The device, once set up, is easy to handle and to use. Although I cannot calibrate the device, I have no reason yo believe that it does anything but report levels faithfully. I’m using it to measure the effects of the outfall from lifestyle multi fuel burners and the results are rather revealing and disturbing. The presentation of results is clear and fast and once charged, the battery lasts for ages as tests are only conducted over a short duration.

When it comes to PM, & TVOC/HCHO the device is very precise. It was extremely sensitive in several tests. However, it lacks calibration so it’s not very accurate. That said, the device is great for comparisons and to give you an idea about the TVOC, HCHO and PM2.5/10 levels.The real issue is with the AQI. The AQI is a composite metric that takes into account COx, NOx etc. I suspect that this device uses just PM to calculate the AQI (air quality index) and that is why it failed to detect car pollution in all tests (motorways etc). I could even smell the fumes myself in some cases and the AQI was at 20 which clearly shows that this function is useless.Good battery and monitor.

Very handy air quality monitor. Readings take a few seconds until they settle but overall impressively fast and responsive device. Battery life is also excellent. The histogram function is nice and quite useful, but allows for no customization at all. First of all, only PM2.5 and HCHO can be logged in histogram mode, but Air Quality Index and TVOC can not. Also, the histogram always displays the entire measurement length, which means that the bin size grows with the total measurement time, making it impossible to display changes on the minute time scale after the function has been running for half an hour or longer. Adding basic histogram functionality like zooming and scrolling on the time axis would make this a 5 star device.

To get an idea of accuracy, measured the following items. Each reading was consistent on 3 attempts and at least meets up with my expectation of what it should read, relative to one another:- baseline (hallway): 0.01mg/m³ HCOC, 0.07 mg/m³ TVOC- Nail varnish remover (5% propanone): 0.08mg/m³ HCOC, 0.40mg/m³ TVOC- Finish dishwasher rinse aid: 0.15mg/m³ HCOC, 0.64mg/m³ TVOC- Pure industrial Acetone (Propanone; pure VOC): 0.13mg/m³ HCOC, 2.65mg/m³ TVOCSimilarly, PM2.5 and PM10 levels were taken as a 0.7 μg/m³ and 1.7 μg/m³ baseline. Significant increases were observed when cooking (before opening doors/windows), when a neighbour’s barbecue wafted over, and slightly increased during the day (presumably from traffic on nearby roads). All looks very “believable”, without the ability to compare to a professionally calibrated device.However it should be noted that it’s very slow to update – the figures only start to change around 22 seconds after a contaminant is introduced/removed or a new room is entered. Also the results themselves seem to be time-interpolated (i.e. like a rolling average); so the reading takes longer to change the bigger the transition. E.g. for the acetone, it took over 2 minutes to increase to a steady reading, then 2 minutes to return to baseline readings again once the contaminant was removed.Also the UI is a little bit “ham”; for instance the readout reads “ug/m³” (i.e. the latin latter “u”) instead of μg/m³ (the greek letter “mu”). Of course the SI prefix for micro should be mu. Doesn’t sound like a big deal, but if you want to take a photo to use to contest an environmental contaminant professionally, it’s not going to get taken seriously by a lab with a silly UI mistake like that in the firmware. Albeit an extreme example, can you imagine showing this in a civil court, having a subject matter expert cross-examine a photograph of your reading?The histogram additionally isn’t autoscaled on the y-axis (the result), so when working with smaller readings, it’s very difficult to read, as all the bars are a few pixels high. It’s also not obvious how to get a histogram up for TVOC or PM10 – if this is possible at all. That said you can just switch the histogram off and rely on the figures.One more flaw is that there seems to be a “hidden” manual calibration option by pressing the pause/play button for a long (5s+ press). But it’s only possible to calibrate PM2.5 and HCHO – again PM10 and TVOC are missing. It’s like these two readings were simply “tacked on” for the more expensive unit – and they tried to cheaply re-use the same firmware from the basic model which doesn’t accommodate these readings.Additionally note that the first unit that arrived was faulty; I do find that using direct-to-market China/Shenzen imports, the quality assurance is sometimes lacking. The price is also extremely high – more than double that available if you’re willing to wait for a direct-from-China site – but that said you wouldn’t have the same protection Discount Delights affords. But still you’re paying ~£100 for that privilege.Overall it’s not a £1000+ professional environmental tool, and nor would I expect it to be for the price. However it is at the absolute upper extreme of price for cheap Chinese models, and given that price it is still a bit mickey mouse. OK good English manual, it seems to work OK, but still a host of minor flaws – would expect to pay less (maybe £120 max).TL;DR – 5* for features, -1 for firmware flaws and -1 for price.

Confunde el vapor que desprenden las colonias presumiblemente alcohol con formaldehído , y las pequeñísimas gotas de agua que desprenden los humidificadores ultrasónicos, con partículas pm2.5 y pm10, disparando la medición.

J’ai acheté ce détecteur pour contrôler la qualité d’air de mon intérieur et de mon environnement extérieur.Il est très réactif, il fonctionne à merveille. Très simple d’utilisation.Facilement transportable. Peut-être un peu trop grand pour le mettre dans une poche.Il faut le mettre plutôt dans une sacoche.Dommage que le HCHO et le TVOC soient limités au maximum à 5 mg par mètre cube. Mais pour les particuliers, cela est suffisant je pense.Pour moi, ce serait l’un des meilleurs détecteurs d’air qui puisse exister pour les particuliers.
