Initially I was pleased with the eMotion Pro but is has some major flaws.Setting up was simple enough, getting it to work with Home Assistant was also simple triggering automations as expected. The device has 3 sensitivity settings but they didn’t seem to make a huge difference – it might be that the area I have it is too small so low works in the same way as high. That’s where the good stuff ends though. The mounting system is utterly useless. The sticky mount stickes to a surface fine, but the device isn’t securely held in place. I’ve even tried using double sided mounting tape but there’s no real suface area on the back of the device and it still fails. You’ll need to 3d print an alternative mount for your device to stop it falling off the holder. Search for “LinknLink eMotion table and wall mount” on Printables. The second issue is far more critical though. Every day this device stops connecting, doesn’t renew its ip address and starts flashing its blue light meaning it needs to be setup again. It also means it stops detecting. This isn’t a networking issue – every other device including my other ESP32 based ones work fine, renew their dhcp leases without issue. The AP is in the same room as this sensor.Frustratingly close to being a good product but these failings mean I’d have to recommend looking for something else.Current firmware version is v61057An additional heads up if you intend to use homeassistant mqtt integration. as of 2025.7.0 (already released) lux unit of measurement is not supported which means you will be unable to use the light levels from this device without a firmware update.

It is a good sensor, and great IR blaster. As others mentioned, the holder is utter rubbish and joke. If you have a 3D printer, go to Printables and search for “Printables eMotion – Ultimate Fixing”. I’ve made several bespoke solutions how to affix this sensor properly. See the demo video. In terms of software functionality, with the latest firmware everything works even via Home Assistant. However, forget the HACS integration, that is no longer supported. If you have it uninstall it and use only MQTT.

There time where technology has it’s pros, & no cons, & this is one of them. Resaon being Bargain Price, Small In Size, Easy To Setup, & most important it Works Great. My experience so far as been plent. Yes I had to reset it ones due to repositioning the device. There’s many application for this type of sensor for all life styles.

The sensor is slow to react even on the highest sensitivity (which also causes false detections). The problem is that it doesn’t always detect you or can take 5-10 seconds to initially react, useless if you want to use it to turn on lights as you enter a room or to activate a camera.Another gripe I have is the stand that is supplied. It’s flimsy and poor quality. The weight of the usb cable is enough to move the sensor making installation frustrating. Finally the app has a habit of not being able to connect, it quite often threw an error saying I had no Internet when I did.The one positive I found was that it easily integrated with Home Assistant via MQTT, although the provided setup instructions missed a couple of key steps.

After struggling with the reliability and setup of the Aqara FP2, I made the switch to the linknLink eMotion Pro, and I could not be happier. This device is an absolute game-changer for Home Assistant users.First, the core presence detection is brilliant. It detects subtle movements, meaning no more lights turning off while I’m sitting still reading or watching TV. It’s noticeably more reliable than the FP2, which often lagged or dropped presence entirely or halucinated Prescence. The Home Assistant integration is straightforward. While you do need your MQTT broker info handy for setup, the process is minimal—once connected, it exposes all the entities perfectly, making it much easier to automate with than its competition. The unexpected, fantastic bonus feature is the built-in IR remote control blaster. This feature works flawlessly with Home Assistant via MQTT, allowing me to finally automate my older TV and fan based on room presence, eliminating the need for a separate IR hub.If you are running Home Assistant and want reliable, rock-solid presence sensing that blows the Aqara FP2 out of the water, the eMotion Pro is the best investment you can make. Just be warned, the included mounting bracket feels cheap, and the adhesive sticky pad is not strong enough for reliable, long-term placement—plan to use your own mounting solution. The sensor itself is truly indispensable.

Soddisfatto
Ottimo, a differenza del sensore di movimento che avevo prima questo “vede” anche quando c’è qualcuno in doccia e non spegne la luce, problema risolto 🙂

I bought this mainly for it built in IR blaster. The TV remote is forever disappearing in our house and this little beauty is always on hand ready to take over. I’ve taught every single remote control we have into its memory 😁 It’s also great fun for messing around muting the TV etc when miles away from home 😜🤣

Empfehlung

Very good once you get to grips with your own mistakes. Some things could be made a little clearer.

Sensor de presencia con compatibilidad con alexa
Tuve un poco de complicaciones para que el sensor fuera reconocido por la app y por Alexa pero se solucionó rápido. El sensor trabaja excelente y la app te permite configurar tiempos y retrasos.

Good little sensor works well with Alexa routines and is quick to detect only downside is A.I detection for pets and vehicles is behind a subscription

Muy bueno a muy buen precio – aunque tienes que colocar-lo perfectamente para tu caso
Es perfecto, facil de utilizar mismo com Home assistant pero no hace lo que pretendia siempre bien – presencia mientras se duerme – y como dice que hace.
