How to use
- Insert 4 new AA alkaline batteries into the battery compartment of the KWANWA Digital Alarm Clock (batteries not included).
- Press the “Set” button to enter the time setting mode and adjust the hours and minutes using the “+” and “-” buttons.
- Choose your preferred time format (12-hour or 24-hour) by pressing the time format setting button.
- To set the alarm, press the “Alarm” button and adjust the alarm time using the “+” and “-” buttons.

This free-standing, cordless, battery-powered alarm clock is sleek, modern, no fuss and feels robust, despite its basic plastic housing. It came packed in its own sturdy box and was well-protected against scratches and other damage.I quite like its chunky design. The red digits are larger than on my previous alarm clock and are very clear. The LED display is bright enough to be read easily during the day but, at the same time, not so bright that it interferes with sleep. The brightness can also be adjusted – there are 3 levels of brightness and I have set mine at level 2. The default for the colon between the hour and minute digits is set to blinking but, if this is distracting, the flashing of the dots can be switched off and the dots will display without blinking.One single alarm can be set and the clock has a snooze function. The alarm starts off at a fairly low volume, which I like, and gets louder as time progresses. The clock itself operates silently and cannot be heard ticking or humming.Unlike similar-looking USB-powered alarm clocks, the display of this alarm clock stays on permanently. This was the single most important point for me. I had tried several USB alarm clocks previously and the display on all of those switched off after a few seconds, unless the USB was plugged into the mains (a power bank did not do the trick). As the alarm clock cannot stand next to my bed and there is no socket within reach to connect the clock to the mains, I would have to make a fairly loud noise (not ideal whilst your partner is sleeping!), or get up to touch the snooze button, if I wanted to see the time in the middle of the night. With the Kwanwa alarm clock, I do not have this problem, as the time is always visible – day and night.On the negative side, the battery compartment on my alarm clock is very snug. It is so tight that the 4 AA batteries push up against each other and form a pyramid shape before they literally launch themselves out of the clock. It was tricky to keep them in place with one hand, whilst clicking the battery door in position with the other – they kept escaping. Even with the battery door secured, the batteries want to push out, so the battery door is bending outwards and there is a small gap between the door and the clock itself. It is a bit annoying but cannot be seen from the front.I do not know how long the clock will operate before the batteries need to be replaced. Currently, I am using single use batteries but will switch to rechargeable ones in the future. The clock was bought about a month ago, has been in use ever since and so far no regrets.

This is a brilliant battery-powered digital alarm clock.In some ways this is quite an ordinary bedside type alarm clock, with a reasonable display, reasonable price, and OK time-keeping. But there is one thing which makes this clock exceptional – the fact that it is powered by 4 AA batteries!My application is somewhat unusual – I play in a band, and I wanted a battery powered clock with large, easy to see digits to put on my pedal board, so that I can see how long we have been playing, and how long to go until it is time to stop (some venues have quite strict curfews imposed by the local council, so stopping on time is essential if you want to be re-booked!). There are plenty of small clocks out there which fit the bill, but most are either mains powered, or require a button to be pushed to see the display!This clock has a big, clear, easy to read display, which is ALWAYS ON! The batteries are claimed to last a year, which is amazing! I had the original batteries in for 6 months, and they seemed perfectly OK, (with perhaps a very slight dimming of the display), however, I changed them as a precaution. However I have no doubt they would have gone on for much longer!The clock has an “auto-dim” mode, which dims the display slightly from (I think) 8 PM to 8 AM. This is probably quite useful if you use this as intended, as a bedside clock, but for my purposes I don’t need this. I simply set the time 8 12 hours fast or slow, so that the display is at its maximum brightness at times when I need to use it!It is small enough to fit on my pedal board, the display is always on and timekeeping seems to be reasonable, with the clock gaining about 1 minute over a 6 month period.In summary this is an averagely good bedside (or pedalboard) clock, which is made exceptional due to its battery power, always on display, and long battery life!

The first clock I ordered from another maker wasn’t working, so I got a refund. I picked this one, a little more expensive, but well worth the cost. It does everything the seller says, is perfect in every way, and has an excellent display day and night. So pleased!!!! It will last a long time, as 4 batteries.

Good clock. I love it. I bought it at second time BUT IT DOES HAVE A WEIRD BUG. Both clocks randomly reset their time every now and then. It happens more in the summer- could it be bright sunshine on the light sensor tripping something?Despite this minor quirk I love it. Batteries last for ever.

I bought this clock for my mum who has trouble seeing. She loves it and is able to view the time from quite a distance. She also likes that it has a 24hr mode as sometimes she gets confused with am and pm times. It is also a lovely sleek style, light weight and good size. Great value for money.

Very clear and simple display. I just use it as clock, haven’t used as alarm yet. It’s very light and compact, and being battery powered it’s easy to find a place to put it. I have the red display, I haven’t tried it in full glaring sunlight but probably going to not be bright enough to see in those circumstances, but in a daylight room and at night it’s perfectly clear with nice big numbers.

Fine product. I haven’t noticed any problems mentioned in past negative reviews, I think the manufacturer has changed some things. It is bright enough to see in the day, but not too bright for night. The numbers are big and easy to see. I’ve only had it a week, so I can’t say much about battery life, but since I use rechargeable batteries I don’t expect any problems. I don’t find the settings difficult to change. Perfect that it doesn’t have a power cord, the batteries are enough.

Perfect clock with accurate time – no cords, easy to see!
Perfect in our living room! We could never see the appliance clocks hidden by our kitchen countertop and now we can see the time easily from our couch. I purchased the black clock with red illuminated numbers which is easy to see, the black blends into the TV sound bar and looks like it’s a part of the TV. The numbers are just the right size. Keeps perfect time. I like the battery operated, no cords. Perfect!
