I bought this because, after an operation, I didn’t want to lift my dog into the back of the car. However, it was more of an effort to deploy the steps and get them aligned than to lift the dog!

After using this for 6 months, it is finally showing signs of wear & tear. I have a huge dog (54kg) and it takes him running up and down ok, it folds quickly and well, but there’s a few things to be aware of:1/ The nuts on the sides get loose and need tightening up with a hex wrench (allen key), don’t let them get too lose or it will collapse.2/ The material is strong but with a heavy dog using it twice a day the stitching gives up and the steps are unusable: it’s not too hard to repair, but now it’s gone for the third time I will retire it. (this is the reason I only give it 4 stars)3/ My dog needed two sessions of encouragement and lots of treats to start using it, so training to use it might take a while with other dogs too.
