A cast iron and nonstick coated griddle pan for creating mini pancakes.The pan is quite heavy, but smaller than I imagined, but still made nice mini pancakes, that you can eat individually, or stack and cover with fresh fruit and syrup of various types, my favourite is maple syrup.The instructions are concise and easy to follow, for the test batch we used a standard shop bought batter mix for traditional pancakes, but the instruction booklet has recipes for traditional Dutch pancakes.It’s important not to wash in a dishwasher, or use detergent in a hand wash, to protect the surface, also let it fully cool down before ringing it off in hot water, so that the cast iron doesn’t crack. Full instructions on the care of your pancake maker are included in the instructions. Another point to note, don’t leave it soaking in water, as being made of iron it will start to rust, and I give mine a quick brush of vegetable oil before storing it away.The instructions mention a bottle to help put the right amount of mixture on the individual holes, even the online video on the seller’s page showed it, but unfortunately it didn’t come with one, so we had to use a jug, which wasn’t the easiest thing to keep steady, pouring the mixture into the tiny holes.The first batch was a bit messy, but the second batch were a lot better, you definitely need the bottle to make a neater batch of mini pancakes. 🥞 so I’ll look out for one.A great addition to the kitchen, our grandchildren love them, so I’m happy to recommend.

I sampled some poffertjes at an event at the weekend and had to order a pan to try making them at home because they were delicious!The pan arrived today and I seasoned it first (three times in the oven) while I made the batter. Once the pan was ready, I began cooking and found it super easy to use…heavy enough to stay out while cooking and turning and produced a nice even colour.Really happy with my purchase, thank you!

Dei Poffertjes Pfanne ist super. Da aus Gusseisen muss man natürlich ein wenig behutsam damit umgehen, weil aufgrund des Gewichts schon etwas Fingerspitzengefühl gefragt ist, wenn man die Pfanne auf das Induktionsfeld stellt. Hitzeverteilung ist ziemlich gut, wenn auch die in der Mitte um ein klein wenig früher umgedreht werden müssen. Für uns funktioniert die Pfanne perfekt.

Excellent Dutch pancake cast iron pan- recipe book make delicious outcomes. The base is not ceramic coated underneath so be careful – it burnt my chopping board as soon as very hot- ceramic coated pans haven’t done that. Happy otherwise!
