We travel a little besides being involved in town twinning, and this little gadget seems great for those awkward but essential things like interpreting confusing parking signs, calculating awkward exchange rates and simple communication without resorting to miming, baby-talk and shouting in English v e r y slowly for the benefit of those uncomprehending foreigners. So far, I haven’t found it difficult to use, and the few test pieces that I did in French translated my meaning clearly. I haven’t tried it on a Parisian waiter yet, though. At the price, a good gadget to have in your pocket

I recently tested this Bisofice M30 Language Translator Device via the Amazing Vine program and overall have been quite impressed with its capabilities. It supports an extensive range of 137 languages, which makes it very versatile for travel, business, or just learning. The real-time voice and photo text translation features work well, and the device is compact and easy to carry. However, I found it a bit difficult to use at first. The interface isn’t entirely intuitive, and it took me some time to get familiar with all the functions. Once I got the hang of it, though, it performed reliably and delivered accurate translations.Overall, it’s a solid product that deliveredon its promises, but be prepared for a bit of a learning curve when you first start using it. 4/5 stars.

Excellent translator. Very well made and works extremely well. It is like having a personal interpreter in your pocket. Highly recommended.

A handy and easy to use little gadget that would be ideal for backpackers or travellers that regularly visit places where language can be a barrier. It’s one of those devices that, if you are quite intuitive with technology i.e. can pick up a new phone and use it, you’ll figure this out quickly. I had it working and translating in 10 minutes, without the need for any instructions.I speak Spanish so tested it with active translation and translating from a photo initially, it was near perfect. Sometimes it wouldn’t get my tone, i.e. that I was asking a question but a native speaker would understand this and accommodate in their response. A wifi connection, though not essential, is needed for most of the better features so I would advise connecting to your phone’s Internet when travelling etc.The range of languages is staggering and given I have tested the accuracy, I’d feel confident using it somewhere I didn’t speak the language. Peace of mind given.Overall, an excellent little translator at great value (some are £200+ for the same features) that I’d happily recommend. Don’t be put off by seemingly difficult use, like any new technology – it takes a bit of fiddling about but after a bit of use, it becomes second nature.
