I agree with many of the previous reviewers I bought this item as an emergency backup should my central heating boiler break down, and I need hot water for a bath. I could not not use it directly in thee bath tub as it requires too much water to cover the the heating element. However, I tried a large bucket, and this worked fine. I needed two two full buckets for a good soak in the bath, and this took about 40 minutes. Probably not suitable for regular use, but ideal for an emergency. Just be careful to follow the instructions completely and use common sense.

Bought this when my central heating boiler developed a fault and I was due to be without hot water for a week before it could be sorted. Ordered on prime, delivery was within 2 days. Heats a 20 litre bucket of water from cold to 113F (45c) in less than 20 minutes. 113F is actually a little too hot for me to wash in so ended up knocking back to 100. Perfect for a sponge wash in the bath. Seems reliable so far although boiler now thankfully fixed. Would highly recommend as a handy useful emergency item.

I got this after a boiler breakdown left us without hot water for some days. It managed to heat a bath up after a couple of hours.It’s an extremely dangerous item, and the included instructions do point that out. It’s a fire hazard if it runs dry or if and here’s quite a risk of electrocution if you’re not careful with it. The wiring connections at the top aren’t water tight. The metal parts of it obviously get extremely hot.They have tried their best to make such an item safe, with the thermostat and timer – but I can’t imagine this is legal for sale in the UK.It did provide me with hot water eventually but using this regularly is really not a good idea.

Works well and heats the water quite quicklyThe plastic cap at the end is not solid as it looks in pic but has a hole in the middle with which you can see the element. The thermometer part is a thin wire separate from the heater, which if not careful could easily be pulled off

Bought in a pinch when the boiler packed in, out the box it’s easy to use and heats a full bath tub within about 2 hours.Instructions are relatively straight forward but ensure you read them, the product itself looks a bit sketchy but seems perfect for emergency situations.
